Working with clay is my all consuming passion. I’m never happier than up to my elbows in mud creating a mess ! Gull On The Roof pottery came about as a knee jerk reaction to being bored silly during Covid and what started out as a new hobby has quickly grown hooves and horns to the extent where I now regularly dream at night about working with clay , making glaze and firing my kiln ‘Wee Burnie’.

My main inspirations are Scotland’s beautiful landscape particularly the beaches of our glorious west coast and Islands, little east coast fishing village cottages and our abundant wildlife. I’m also heavily influenced by the cartoons of Gary Larson , the work of Fred Yokel , Vanessa Hodge and the Genius that is Florian Gadsby.
