Changes to Consignment & Participant's Guidebook

Changes That Affect You

Please find below changes some of the changes that you will be required to be informed on and follow. We ask that you read both the Consignment Agreement and Participant's Guidebook thoroughly to ensure you are up to date with all new procedures and policies.

Consignment Agreement Changes

  • Participant's Guidebook

  • We have reinforced our requirement for all artists, designers and producers to be compliant with our Participant's Guidebook. The Participant's Guidebook, provides you with important information on our standards and ways of working, as well as important information for selling through SDX.

  • Retail Ready

  • We have added a new section, "Retail Ready". This covers an array of areas but mainly: branding, displays, and barcoding your products.

  • Details on how to be retail ready can be found in our Participant's Guidebook.

  • Barcodes & Labels

  • It is now mandatory that all artists, designers, and producers provide their own barcode numbers and labels when adding new products and restocking with us.

  • More details on this can be found in our Participant's Guidebook as well as our Barcoding and Printing Guide.

  • Consignment Periods

  • Previously we have worked on a month to month rolling consignment. We have now changed this to a 3-month consignment period running from April to September and our usual 6-month consignment period running from October to March.

  • This provides us with much structure in terms of new participant's joining SDX, new products arriving, as well as giving our store teams more time to focus on the areas that really matter.

  • Adding New Products & Price Changes

  • New products, including seasonal products, must be approved before they are added to our stores.

  • You are required to provide information on all new products or price changes to SDX in advance for the upcoming consignment period.

  • For example, to add new products for the consignment period running July to September, you would be required to notify us of any new products or price changes by the 5th working day of June.

  • Promotions or discounts, these can be submitted at any time as normal.

  • New product applications must be sent to apply@sdx.scot. Please read through both the Consignment Agreement and Participant's Guidebook for information on adding new products.

  • More details on this can be found in our Participant's Guidebook.

  • For the consignment period of April to June, we have extended the deadline for new product applications to the 14th of March.

  • The new Consignment Agreement is attached to this post.

Participant's Guidebook

  • We have completely updated our Participant's Guidebook to reflect new practices and processes as well as provide up to date information for you to be aware of. The Participant's Guidebook covers a range of topics, notably you should be aware of these additions:

  • Guidance and details for Barcodes and Labels.

  • Being "Retail Ready".

  • Stock management and storage availability for our stores.

  • Please read the full Participant's Guidebook to keep to up to date with changes to our policies and procedures.

  • The new Participant's Guidebook is attached to this post.

New Stock List Template

  • We have updated our stock list template. This now includes columns for price changes to allow you to identify these to the store teams.

  • The new stocklist template is attached to this post.

Going Forward

  • Continuing to sell with SDX is considered as your agreement to comply with both the Consignment Agreement and Participant's Guidebook.

Hello, I am trying to find more information on the online shop and profile. the guide book has a little information but not much instruction. it says "For more information on how to sell through our online store please read over the online shop guide appendix." where can the "online shop guide appendix" be found because it's not in the guidebook.
