Stock Room Changes - Edinburgh

I know it hasn't been easy to deal with not being able to restock this month, but this is the first time in 9 years we have done this. We need time to get organised as the stock room in Edinburgh for Christmas stock and coming into our busiest period of the year.

The new Team Coordinator - Jude and the new Ops Manager - Callum, along with the Edinburgh staff, have done a wonderful job getting the shop, stockroom and stock organised with the break from having to create barcodes, deal with stock arriving every day and artists coming in an out daily. Jude will be sending out photos of how stock should be sent/brought into the store and also putting a limit on the amount of stock we will take. This will make it much easier for the staff to replen stock daily without it taking 2 hours a day going through boxes to find the right products. I really do ask you to respect what we are trying to do and be assured we are doing this to improve the service for both the artists and customers. The Edinburgh store's sales have increased by £20-40k per month over the summer and the amount of work this puts on the staff, when we just get boxes of stock arriving that is not in order or easy to sort, is unmanageable. And we even get stock arriving with no barcodes, which should really be sent back, but the staff have been barcoding it to get it out on the shop floor. We have closed off receiving stock over September for a good valid business reason, yet artists are still calling the store about stock, emailing and coming into the store. This has been really stressful for the staff, when they are trying to get organised. We have even been asked for a discount on rent this month, when we know there are no stock issues within the stores and we have continued as normal to sell everyone's products and deliver good customer service to customers. This is very disheartening for the entire team. Please look out for communication about the stock room and deliveries to the store from the Edinburgh team in the next few days. I really hope everyone will get on board with the changes they have made to improve the store, and service, and appreciate the extent of hard work and effort the team has put into creating a fantastic store. The customers certainly appreciate the store as sales have continued to rise month on month from this time last year, which is a continuing trend from 22-23. If we are to continue to provide a good service to our customers and sell your products, we have to make changes in the store to accommodate this. Thanks for your support at this time Lynzi
