Hi fellow artists and makers! I've noticed that customers seem to be more considerate when making purchases this autumn and winter, whether at markets or shops. I compared the final sales report from November 2024 to November 2023, and the results were shocking—a decline of 35%! 😱 Do you feel the same? I stock in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and I've experienced a drop in sales in both locations. In Edinburgh, my space is one of the accessory stands near the checkout in the front room. However, the staff moved it in November to the area between the white shelves that run throughout the room. It’s now positioned in the middle of the aisle. I’m not sure if this is a better location for customer flow. The space in Glasgow hasn't changed. While this move could have impacted my sales, I don't assume it's the main reason for the decline.
