Hi Everyone, The new store opened yesterday, after a monumental effort by the staff. Myself, Graeme & Linzie have worked 11 days straight, working 10-12 hour days, to get all the stock moved over. And the Glasgow team have worked non-stop taking down shelves, stands and packing boxes. I want to thank the artists who came in to help, some also working every day from 9am-6pm, building shelving units, and helping to set up artist stands. As well as unloading around 30 van loads of stuff, that at one point seemed never ending. Although we are now open, there are still many stands and walls still to set up and the staff are doing their best to get this done, but if you have not been to the store yet, please do go in and either check your space is set up the way you would like it, or if it is not set up yet, help by getting it done, so it is one less job for the staff to do. The shop was very busy yesterday and we have had incredible feedback from customers. As well as having people and businesses from the local community, popping in to welcome us to the area and say how pleased they are that it is not another faceless commercial business. As you can imagine, the team is very tired and we have had very little chance to even get onto emails in the past week. We are expecting the store to be very busy this weekend, with the school holidays, therefore we really need help to get the last of the spaces done. The stands are a little bit easier to do, but if you have a wall space and have not been to the store yet, we really need you to get there as soon as you can. We can hang a few pieces and set up browsers etc, but as you know, it takes a long time to put up shelves and to display everything properly, so we can't possibly do that while the shop is open. However, you can take all the time you need to work on your own space. Again, thanks to those of you who have done this already and to the handful who stayed and help to set up at least 40 of your artist colleagues spaces too. We couldn't have done this without you! I am incredibly proud of the SDX Glasgow team and what they have achieved to get this new store open in such a short space of time. And I hope when you see the new space, you will appreciate what a wonderful opportunity we have, to build a bigger and better customer based in the heart of Glasgow. Best wishes Lynzi
