I wonder if I am the only person who is very concerned about the SDX move from Buchanan Galleries. I have enjoyed selling my stitched pictures here. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

I know Glasgow very well. Sauchiehall Street used to be the main shopping street until the big stores closed and even recently after great efforts and financial support rents had to be lowered to encourage shops to open there. Advice to visitors to the city is that Buchanan Street is the best shopping street in Glasgow.. There is a wide range of shops and I know from conversations with people at the Christmas Fayre where I was promoting SDX for its large selection of products, that many people shopping in John Lewis also visit SDX because it is almost next door.

Although the management of SDX informed us of the exciting opportunity for increased sales with more space in a bigger shop with greater footfall etc we still don,t know where this shop is and whether there has been analysis or evidence of these aspects.

When Buchanan Galleries increased rents of all shops SDX understandingly increased rental of space for artists work. If they move to a different premises will rent be reviewed again?

I have agreed to stay until we are clearer about the situation but it was suggested that the move would be in March and we are alteady halfway through January.
